I have been reading and contemplating about why an individual struggles to =
find happiness and everlasting peace. Why we as humans have tried and faile=
d again and again as an individual, and as collective to arrive at it.=20
Ashtavakra, one of the greatest sages and Advaitins =E2=80=94 a profound no=
n-dualist =E2=80=94 emphasizes the path of negation: a journey of conscious=
ness from =E2=80=9Cthis body is me, this desire is me, this mind is me, thi=
s idea is me, this work is me, this discriminating intellect is me=E2=80=9D=
 to the realization that none of these is truly me.=20
I found this to be a lesson on unlearning and =E2=80=9Cunconditioning=E2=80=
=9D. Till we remain in our head, or identify ourselves with the mind, we wi=
ll forever be vulnerable to conditioning. The function of mind is to condit=
ion, and our identification with it will condition us.=20
